PLATFORMS:
Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0

DESCRIPTION:
Word processors and desktop publishing packages offer an abundance of
snazzy-looking fonts, but they don't offer a simple way to browse
through them. With FontViewer, you can browse all the fonts on your
system at once, compare selected fonts to each other, and use a
variety of filters to quickly find the font you want. FontViewer
was written by Jake Richter, and first appeared in PC Magazine,
26 May 1998 (v17n10).

REVISION HISTORY:
Changes with Version 1.1
- Revamped the focus box mechanism to behave more like Explorer.
- Changed the font used to present font names and headers on a
printer from "System" to "Arial", since Arial is a standard
font that should exist on all Windows systems.
- Fixed a number of focus rectangle redraw problems that occurred
  when there were overlapping windows.
- After dismissing the Display Settings dialog, the font window
is redrawn only if there are display changes.
- Fixed a bug in the View Select window that caused FontViewer to
switch back to full selection (sometimes without a scroll bar)
when too few rendering options were selected.
- Added a status bar display of the number of fonts and rendering
variations with the current filter, and the maximum number of
  fonts and variations.
- Changed some status bar help messages to be more consistent with
  the suggested action.
- Improved window scrolling so it won't keep scrolling down until
  only one font is displayed.
- Cleaned up some memory leaks.
- Modified the button click support so that a double click with a
Ctrl key modifier acts like a single click, thus making it easier
to toggle a selection on or off.
- Increased the test string edit box to 62 characters.
- Updated the help file to reflect the v1.1 changes, and added
a section with common questions and their answers.
