Once upon a time, I grew up in a household. In this household, there was an end-table that someday I would get from my mother and turn into a 2nd Birthday present for my daughter. Here are the pictures to prove it.
DURING:
The lovely apron and hot pad/oven mitt were made by Claire's Auntie Amy -- a present for her 2nd Birthday. Awhile ago, I made some little yellow pom flowers for a friend's baby shower, and since I had them leftover I thought I'd throw those into the little accessories mix, along with the spray painted salt/pepper shakers I found at the estate sale.
Stove burners are wooden plaques from Michael's; I handpainted them. The stove knobs are just little wooden wheels that I spray-painted silver; they turn. Like MANY other play-kitchen DiY'ers out there, I used an upside down "J" for the faucet but had to stabilize it with scrap wood blocks because I couldn't drill through the piece itself and glueing it didn't seem like a stable enough option. The hot/cold are just little wooden people (again, like many people who made play kitchens online), nut/bolted down, but still turnable.
Thanks to Claire's Oma and Opa, she has pots and pans to complete her kitchen accessories. In addition, she completes her pots and pans with the magnificent felt food (veggie Farfalle pasta, sugar cookies and a stack of pancakes) that her Auntie Kate made her.
There are a few touches here and there that I would like to add (mount little push light in oven, paint/decorate spice rack for the right side, fix the curtain so it covers the gap between the dowel and the oven door) but for the most part it is FINISHED!
I had SOOOOO much inspiration, from ALL over the web. But, as many of you know, the play-kitchen that started it all, for me, was Vintage Songbird's.

Claire loves her framed chalkboard; I found the frame (originally an ornate, gold mirror frame) at an estate sale, across the street.
